Race Car Driver Experience |
One of the greatest sports
car racing
drivers is A.J. Foyt. His career began on a short dirt racing track in
Springfield in 1957. His most impressive races were done in the USA.
Foyt has achieved great success driving in NASCAR, midgets and sprints.
He won about 150 major car racing
contests
during his career of a race car driver, which lasted for four decades.
This famous race car driver inherited his love to car speed racing
from his father,
who was a mechanic devoted to this sport. He used to tell his son
stories about street
racing cars
and car racing events. He was in love with automobiles which were his
job and hobby.
The young man took part in different racing events but success rarely
came to him, but soon he was noticed by one of the race car owners who
offered him driving for more reputable teams. In the Indy 500 the young
race car driver finished the race with the 16th place and earned a few
thousand dollars.
The racing cars of that time did not have all the necessary protecting
devices and in 1965 this race car driver got into the accident
resulting in a broken back and other serious injuries. Many people
thought that the young race car driver would never return to the racing
scene but he recovered and was back in ten weeks and won five
competitions in car
track racing.
The next year the famous race car driver was injured in Wisconsin. The
race car driver got his hands and face burnt. That season was not easy
to finish and he ended it with 13th place in the list. He seemed to
retire from the racing track but in 1967 the great race car driver won
the national title in Indy 500.
