racing. But there are also
people who prefer slot car racing. Slot car racing is a hobby which
involves racing small electronic racing automobiles which are guided by
grooves or slots and. Such slot racing autos may be controlled with the
help of special controllers created to guide electronic engines that
are inside the vehicles. If a user presses more strongly on a throttle,
they began to run with high speed. Every slot racing car is on its own
track. The aim of the competition in slot car racing is to achieve the
skill to take curves at higher speed in such a way that the autos would
not fall from their tracks.
Many people who enjoys slot car racing prefer racing tracks to be
unobstructed, while some of slot car racing fans like roads, structured
with looking like real-life constructions, plants, and viewers. Slot
car racing has fewer fans than model railroading.
It is known that in slot car racing there may be three scales - 1/24
scale, 1/32 scale, and 1/87 to 1/64 scale. There are two main racing
scale organizations in the USA. They are H.O. Professional Racing
Organization and United Federation of H.O. Racers Association. Each
organization arranges a national contest every year in the middle of
summer. These organizations manage a lot of smaller associations
situated all over the country.
One of the associations in California, namely the Fray has the larger
amount slot car racing than any other. The most competitive competition
takes place every year is in February, and about one hundred of
participants compete on eight tables. Many associations arrange some
contests on home tracks.
