People all over the world have loved the car racing competitions since cars for such contests appeared.  The history of sports car racing can be traced back to the times of the Roman Empire. So it is evident that human beings were always keen on sports car racing and now it is one of the most popular and spectacular types of sport. The first sports car racing competition took place in the USA in 1895 on the 28th of November. The contest was held in Evanston (Illinois). The length of the sports car racing was only about 54 miles and took ten hours to reach the finish.

It was just the beginning of what we now know as sport car racing phenomenon. Starting with the first car racing contest, people have continued to gather near the car racing tracks and roads to give support to favorite competitors and share the excitement of the racing.

Other kinds of racing that attract people are Indy car racing and street car racing.
