Stock Car Racing Info

There are different types of car racing sport such as dirt car racing, car track racing, car drag racing, nascar racing. Stock car racing is known to be one of the most wide spread types of car racing in the USA. The combination of words "stock car" appeared because of the rule saying that all the automobiles used are to be original automobiles. They may be changed for action, but they can’t be specially produced for car racing. An instance of such a change is the spoiler which is added to the automobile used for stock car racing. The spoiler helps to stabilize the car and protects from overturning during stock car racing.

Stock car racing usually takes place on the tracks which have oval form and may be made from dirt as well as of asphalt. There are cases when stock car racing is run on the roads, but these cases are uncommon. The stock car racing tracks may be of different length varying from short distance tracks, having one quarter of a mile, to long distance ones which may be to 2.66 miles. The speed limit for short tracks is 220 mph, and for long distance tracks the speed limit of 187 mph is set.

Stock car racing can be traced back to the racing competitions which were then outlawed. It was necessary to avoid the punishment when running a car race that the participators modified their automobiles to make them faster. Car modifying became a contest between the car racers and in the early 30's stock car racing sport was organized. The rules for car racing were not the same. Many participators wanted rules to be unified. It happened in 1948. Stock car racing clubs include the International Motor Contest Association, Automobile Racing Club of America, and the Championship Racing Association.
